Bracondale has historically been the main route which leads southwards out of Norwich and this meant it became a very popular location for wealthy residents. The name derives from the term “a dale of bracken” which highlights the rural history of this area of the city. The Manor House is currently a Grade II listed building due to its architectural and historical importance but what is interesting is that there is still a lot that is unknown about the property due to a lack of historical documents.

From the bustling city of Norwich to the choice of beautiful beaches it is no surprise that people who visit Norfolk often end up staying here permanently. For people who have lived in London all their life it can be quite a surprise when they visit East Anglia. The city of Norwich is very friendly with a huge range of restaurants, bars, cinemas and shopping centres. It is also a very safe city and has been voted as one of the happiest places to live in the UK. Travelling around Norwich is very easy with regular buses and lots of cabs firms all at a much cheaper price than you would find in London.

When it comes to living in Norwich a lot of people choose to search for a property to rent as opposed to a property for sale. For many people renting is a much more appealing option especially if they are only looking for somewhere to live temporarily. For people who plan to move around a lot due to work or personal commitments renting also gives a greater level of flexibility. As well as this monthly outgoings are much more predictable because landlords are responsible for maintaining the property which means you are less likely to have to deal with surprise expenses. So, if you decide that renting is the option for you where do you start?

It has been another busy few weeks here in the abbotFox office. We have taken on two new members of staff and we are continuing to see an increase in the number of people looking to buy a house in Norfolk. The market is moving incredibly quickly and our office is open seven days a week so clients can contact the team at any time. The new abbotFox lettings team has also been busy helping people find places to rent in Norwich. Despite this huge increase in activity one thing remains the same: our clients are very important to us and we do everything we can to ensure that everyone we work with is happy with the service we provide.

With property prices rising and an increase in the number of mortgage applications being approved the housing market is continuing to grow at a fast rate. New figures reveal that in February average house prices rose by 0.7% and there has been a huge increase in the number of properties coming on to the market. This surge has meant that it is imperative that you ensure your house stands out when it is being marketed by your estate agent.
