#foxfoodforecast - Hub Box, Truro

10/08/2015

The latest submission to our #foxfoodforecast comes from Samuel Le Good on his week’s excursion to England’s South West and his discovery of the fantastic HUBBOX restaurant based in Truro.

Found in a beautiful 19th century grade II listed Wesleyan chapel, HUBBOX is one of the most popular eateries in Cornwall and Devon. The interior of the restaurant has been drenched in modernisation and the Guardian describes it as one of the world’s “coolest restaurant interiors.” The award winning menu is inspired by Head Chef Alex Towill’s experiences, cooking over the pond in New York.

We fortunately stumbled across HUBBOX and I was immediately enthralled with the converted chapel’s architecture, whilst the inside of the restaurant was contemporary and had a very avant-garde edge to it. The beef brisket and pulled pork nachos from the wonderful smoker were a big hit with the family and left our taste buds tingling with appreciative enjoyment.

The service we received was fantastic and no thanks to a pesky, pint-spilling seagull I was given a free refill of my now empty lager. Our table in the restaurant’s courtyard was bathed in the Cornwall summer sun and was a fabulous dining experience that I would highly recommend to anyone travelling to the South West anytime soon.

Keep any eye out for the next addition of the #foxfoodforecast, in which another member of the abbotFox team will blog about their favourite dining experience over the past fortnight.

Have you been out to eat anywhere nice recently? We would love to hear from you, where you would recommend?
