There are location and lifestyle requirements to consider. Choose a location that is right for you and your family based on proximity to local schools, amenities, space, and lifestyle requirements. 

For example, if you want to live near water then Brundall or Wroxham might be good choices for you. If you want to be near a market town then Diss or Aylesham are popular locations. For seaside locations, Rightmove recently reported that Caister-on-Sea is one of the most searched for villages on its website. Mundesley, an unspoilt North Norfolk coastal village is another top location. 

A good place to start is by determining how many bedrooms you want or need in your new home and what type of home would you be comfortable living in. Do you want to live in a new build property or a home with history? A modern design or traditional? A country cottage or a city dwelling. Would you be alright to take on a bit of a project or do you need something that doesn't require any work?

Get a checklist together and start whittling the options and requirements down. 

The next thing you'll need to discuss and decide is what would you compromise on because there are always compromises unless you buy some land and build your own home. 

Would you compromise on location? Would it be the number of bedrooms? Perhaps you would forgo a garage to get the home you desire.

Then, what is your ideal budget and what is your maximum spend, the amount you would be prepared to spend to secure your dream home?
