Hi Craig, can we first ask if a removal company is different to hiring a van and driver?
Yes, it is different. A removal company will pack and move all of your belongings to make it a stress-free day. Hiring a van means you move everything yourself and this will become a stressful day!
Ah, so it's stress-free versus stressful, I know which one I'd prefer. So, in your opinion is it always best to use a removal company?
Mostly every time! Most people who hire a van and do it themselves say ‘Never again!’. A removal company makes moving home effortless on the big day.
Do you visit the client first to find out what will need moving?
Yes, we can do an on-site visit to see what needs packing and moving. Always best to see it with our own eyes!
How much notice would someone need to give to book a removal van/lorry?
Usually, 2-3 weeks notice is enough. More than that is desirable!
What if someone hasn't got any boxes for packing?
We've got it covered at Rush Removals. Having no boxes is not a problem because they can be bought or loaned from us.
What if someone needed a hand with packing up their items?
We can provide a full packing service if required.
The client can even go out for the day and when they come back all their items will be packed and ready for moving day. We literally take the stress out of everything.
What if someone needed their loft emptied but can’t get up there anymore?
Again, it's not a problem. We can get up into lofts and empty them, then pack everything up ready for moving.
Would this be a problem? If the client lived in a block of flats could you also move them stress-free?
No problem at all! We would hope that there's a lift that works but even if there wasn't we are used to going up and down the stairs.
If the lift didn't work and the client was on the tenth floor we would just bring a bigger team to help.
Let’s say a client is moving into a smaller home and needed to store items until they were sold, how would that work?
We can recommend a storage facility in the right location and take their belongings into storage for them.
Finally, what happens when the client arrives at their new home?
Sometimes we have to wait for the keys but once we have them we will unload everything and put it all into the chosen rooms. If there happens to be flatpack furniture like beds and wardrobes we can reassemble those too.
